In the emirate of Ajman, public parking has been completely digitized, meaning you won't find traditional parking meters. Here are the two convenient ways to pay for parking:
Through SMS
- Simple and quick: This method doesn't require downloading an app.
- Limited duration: You can only pay your parking fee for a maximum of one hour at a time with this virtual parking permit.
- Here's how:
- Compose an SMS with the following format:
Plate Source Plate Category Plate Number
- Send the SMS to the Ajman parking SMS number, 5155.
- Example:
AJM P 12345 Dubai
- Upon successful payment, you'll receive a confirmation SMS to display as your parking ticket.
- Compose an SMS with the following format:
Using the MPDA App
- More flexible: This app allows you to pay for parking durations shorter or longer than one hour.
- Additional features: Track your parking history and view nearby parking availability.
- Here's how:
- Download the MPDA app from the App Store or Google Play Store.
- Open the app and tap on "Parking services."
- Choose "regular parking" and select the desired duration.
- Select "Credit Card" and enter your details. Alternatively, use Apple Pay, Samsung Pay, or Google Pay.
- You'll receive a confirmation message with the reference number upon successful payment.
Remember
- Always display the confirmation SMS or app notification on your phone's dashboard while parked.
- Parking fees vary depending on the location and duration. Check the signage in the parking area for specific details.
- While Ajman's parking system is fully digital, other emirates like Abu Dhabi may still offer parking cards in addition to app and SMS options.
